Steven Leslie Cummins, 80 years old, died on April 10th, 2022 in Murrieta, CA
‘Steve’ proudly served in the United States Marine Corps from 1960-1966. His career as an aircraft mechanic and speciality welder included McDonald Douglas Aircraft, Garret Air Research and Northrop Corporation. His sought after skills with specialty metals kept him busy at Lane & Rodrick as well as many other interests outside of work.
Steve loved camping, building dune buggies, riding motorcycles and tinkering with tools and electronics. He was never without a hobby to pursue. Steve also enjoyed fellowship at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Escondido and cherished a lifetime of friends all around Southern California. Steve will be remembered for his positive outlook on life, his friendly nature, his willingness to always help others and his spot on sense of humor that left many people doubled over with laughter, including himself. He will be missed by many.
Steve was preceded in death by his parents, John W Cummins and Mary E Cummins of Escondido, CA.
Steve is survived by a large and loving family including his devoted twin sister, Sharon Reser of Valley Center, CA, former wife, Cheryl Short of Hemet, CA. Daughters Christine Owens of Murrieta, CA, Carroll Goss of Oceanside, CA, Jennifer Dopps of Menifee, CA and son Josh Reynolds. Grandchildren include Christopher Tessensohn, Kristine Bowman, Tiffany Young, Michelle Mein, Ryan Bennett, Nicole Owens, Travis Owens and Maddison Dopps. Great Grandchildren include MacKenzie Bowman, Lionel Young IV, Zach Bowman, Rorick Young, Brooklyn Kellison, Ruby Young, MacKenzie Kellison, Honey Young, Sawyer Kellison, Killian Mein and another great grandchild is due in August, 2022.
